Downtown Jasper

Chuck and I liked to relax and read, but we did have to raise our stumps and go to Jasper every once in a while to reprovision if nothing else.

On the most cynical level, one could characterize downtown Jasper as a small strip mall. At any rate a lot of business was on one side of the main drag.

The other side of the main street was pretty much taken up by the railroad. This is a museum piece on show for the tourists:

There were still some very pretty views of the Rockies from downtown.

Here is the information center. Doretha and I actually went there to find a laundromat. The stall outside provided info for hikers.

There were plenty of flowers on display. They were just the accent of an attractive holiday village.
